There are different ways to obtain permanent residence in Panama, here you will find the most common.
Permanent Residence as a Friendly Country
Foreign nationals of specific countries that maintain friendly, professional, economic relations with the Republic of Panama may request this permit. Additionally, they must be able to fulfill an investment of US$200,000.00 in real estate, or a fine term for the same amount in a local bank for a period of 2 years.

Permanent Residence as Qualified Investors
This type of residence allows permanent residence to be obtained almost immediately, through the investment of US$500,000.00 in a real estate , or fixed-term deposit for the sum of US$750,000.00
Permanent Resident for Real Estate Investment
Foreigners may request that invest the minimum sum of US$300,000.00 in real estate (without financing) and demonstrate that the funds come from from abroad. This Permit will be for a term of two (2) years, after this period has elapsed the applicant may opt for permanent residence. To include a dependent, you must add the investment of US$ 2,000.00 for each dependent, which can be justified by a local bank reference.
Retired Pensioner
Foreigners who receive retirement or pension from a foreign government, international organization or private company, who enter the national territory to settle in it and have sufficient financial means to cover all their subsistence expenses and those of their dependents, may request this permit. in the country. The monthly income or pension may not be less than US$1,000.00 and must be granted for life.

In the event that the applicant has acquired a property on a personal basis in the national territory for an amount greater than US$100,000.00, the pension may be for a minimum of US$750.00.
In the cases of spouses, you may choose to credit the sums of both to meet the minimum of the established pension, which is US$1,000.00.
This Permit is indefinite, so it will not require an extension.
Panama-Italy Agreement
Grant the permit exclusively to foreigners of Italian nationality who wish to establish their residence indefinitely in our country, proving a commercial investment.
Professional Foreigner
Professional foreigners may apply for this permit, as long as said profession is not limited by the Constitution of the Republic of Panama or by law to Panamanian nationals by birth or by naturalization.
Permanent residence as friendly countries
